How the Paris Agreement will usher in a New Era of Carbon Markets
At COP29, the Paris Agreement will usher in a new era of Paris-compliant carbon markets that support developing country efforts to conserve rainforests. Under Article 6, developed countries and corporations will be able to purchase Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes (ITMOs) to support their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and net-zero targets. Learn how Article 5.2 and 6.2 work together and how private finance can support sovereign government efforts to halt and reverse deforestation by 2030 under the Paris Agreement.
