Professor Hamidreza Gohari Darabkhani

Professor of Low Carbon and Renewable Energy Systems / Director of Staffordshire Centre For Renewable and Sustainable Engineering

With over 20 years of experience in industry and academia, Prof. Gohari Darabkhani has dedicated his research to developing technologies and projects that address urgent energy sector challenges, aiming to meet net-zero emission targets by 2050. He received his PhD from the University of Manchester and has contributed to various carbon capture and cogeneration projects at Cranfield University in the UK. Currently, he works as Professor of Low Carbon and Energy Systems and Director of the Staffordshire Centre for Renewable and Sustainable Engineering (CRSE) at the University of Staffordshire in the UK. Prof. Gohari Darabkhani’s research presently focuses on decarbonizing the energy sector and advancing hydrogen generation and utilization technologies. He would be pleased to share his insights into critical materials essential to the clean energy transition, particularly in unlocking the potential of renewable energy technologies, energy storage systems, and alternative fuels, such as biofuels, hydrogen, and e-fuels.
