Dr. Taleh Ziyadov
Director-General - Baku International Sea Trade Port
Dr. Taleh Ziyadov has led the Port of Baku since November 2014, leveraging his expertise in business development, sustainable logistics, and visionary strategy to transform the port into a pivotal trade hub in Eurasia.Â
Under his leadership, the Port of Baku has emerged as a leader in the Caspian region, pioneering digitalization, operational efficiency, and sustainability. It was the first in the region to develop a net/near-zero emission strategy and receive the "EcoPort" certification from ESPO in 2019. In 2022, it became the first public company in Azerbaijan to join the UN Global Compact, followed by membership in the UN Ocean Stewardship Coalition in 2024, aligning with Agenda 2030.Â
Dr. Ziyadov holds a Master's degree from Georgetown University (USA) and a Ph.D. from Cambridge University (UK). He has several publications, including two books, several book chapters and numerous academic and analytical articles. Â
Dr. Ziyadov is a big fan of badminton and serves as president of Azerbaijan Badminton Federation. Â
