Dr. Naoki Matsuoka
General Manager, Research & Development Center, Lead Expert for Lithium-ion Batteries - Asahi Kasei Europe
Dr. Naoki Matsuoka is a Battery Specialist highly skilled in chemical research and development, general and technical project management, needs assessment, strategic planning, establishing priorities, delegating tasks, and motivating teams to reach their best potential. He studied chemistry at Keio University in Japan and obtained his Ph.D. in Molecular Magnetism.Â
He began his career with Asahi Kasei in 2000, where he was responsible for developing catalysts for a wide variety of petrochemicals. Since 2010, he has focused his career on developing materials for advanced lithium-ion batteries, under the guidance of Dr. Akira Yoshino, who made pioneering contributions to the development of the lithium-ion battery.Â
Dr. Naoki Matsuoka is currently the General Manager of the Research & Development Center at Asahi Kasei Europe GmbH, a diversified chemical company, and is also responsible for leading the advanced electrolyte development team.Â
