Stuart oversees the World Energy Council’s relationships with Intergovernmental Organisations and key stakeholders. He leads the communications team in the World Energy Council secretariat based in London where he is responsible for all external and internal communications on behalf of the Council’s Communications and Strategy Committee. He guides the development of the Council’s studies, provides strategic communications counsel to the Secretary General and acts as a spokesperson for the organisation.
Prior to joining the World Energy Council in 2011 Stuart was a senior advisor to Queen Elizabeth II, responsible for providing strategic communications advice to the Royal Household. He has enjoyed an extensive career in the private and public sectors, working for the British government in their Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs ministry, and as a consultant where he has advised companies and governments on a range of high profile issues and covering many sectors, including energy. He has also had senior roles in urban regeneration and planning agencies.
