Mustapha Bakkoury has been Masen’s President since he was appointed by His Majesty in December 2009. Today, with its international standard resources, Masen is a benchmark for renewable energy on both the regional and international stage.
Before joining Masen, Bakkoury was Director General of one of Morocco’s key institutions, the Deposit and Management Fund (CDG), which he was able to establish as the financial arm of the development of the Kingdom. He previously held senior posts in the banking sector in the BMCI Group. Prior to this, he was responsible for development and business finance at Morocco’s Nationwide Local Planning Company, SONADAC.
An engineer by training, and graduate of the prestigious Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris, he completed his training with a postgraduate degree in banking and finance in one of France’s leading universities.
Combining his experiences in the public, private, technical and financial sectors, Bakkoury also became involved in politics. In 2012 he was elected Secretary General of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) and is currently President of Morocco’s largest region, Casablanca-Settat.
