Gilles Pargneaux

Member European Parliament

Born on 24 March 1957, Gilles PARGNEAUX is a French politician, Member of the European Parliament (EP) since 2009. He is vice-president of the environment, health and food security committee and member of the foreign affairs committee, the budget control committee as well as the security and defence committee.

As an MEP, Gilles PARGNEAUX has been rapporteur of the report of the European Parliament on the COP 21: “Towards an international agreement on Climate in Paris”. He was a member of the EP delegation to the COP21 in Paris.

Sensitive to the issue of cooperation between the European Union, the Maghreb and the Mashrek, Gilles PARGNEAUX is President of the EU-Morocco friendship group as well as Vice-president of the delegation with Mashrek countries and Member of the Delegation for relations with the Maghreb countries and the Arab Maghreb Union.
